Join us in celebrating the 2025 Bald Head Island Pirate Invasion! Saturday visit the encampment, listen to pirate songs and sea chanties, watch the sword fighting demonstrations and more! The sea battle will be at 3:00 at beach access #5 followed by a party with the pirates and a ghost walk. Enjoy breakfast with the pirates on Sunday morning.

This year the pirate world lost a wonderful and unique human being - Captain Horatio Sinbad. He was a friend to all of us, a mentor to many, and a captain in the purest sense. Although it will be emotionally painful for us to hold the BHI Pirate Invasion without him, we will because we know he would want us to. As he has often said when faced with tragedy and adversity, "Carry On" and so we shall. Captain Sinbad and his crew sailed his ship, the Meka II, from his home base in Beaufort NC into the Bald Head Island harbor for the BHI Pirate Invasion every year and participated in our sea battle firing canons onto shore. In the early years he actually entered the Marina with canons blasting to announce the opening of Pirate's Weekend and, although that practice was halted as more homes were built in the Harbor area, the arrival of the Meka II is still quite dramatic.

BHI Pirate Invasion is looking for volunteers to donate time during the day and evening on Saturday and Sunday morning. If you would like to help with set-up or break down at Marina Park, posting clues or burying treasure for the Treasure Hunt, selling merchandise, grilling or taking tickets for lunch, or checking in attendees in the evening for the ghost walk or on Sunday morning for the breakfast, we would love to hear from you.
